As I've mentioned, it seems that most aftermarket companies that develop and market parts for "muscle cars" have, for the most part, overlooked the '73-'77 GM A cars. It's not uncommon to find that you can get parts for a '64-'72 Chevelle without a problem, and understandably so. More often then not nowadays, those same suppliers will carry an ever growing selection of parts for the Chevelle's '78+ counterpart, the Chevrolet Malibu G-body. But what about our beloved '73-'77s? While most places seem to carry trunk weatherstripping, albeit a generic cut-to-fit product, they don't offer much else. Frustrating? You know it. If you own a '73-'77 A-body car, you likely know exactly what I'm talking about.
This page is designed to be filled with the fruits of my labour (and hopefully yours as well!), expended in the search for the urethane bumper fillers for your '74 El Camino, or the correct material for recovering the seats in your '77 Cutlass! I recognized as soon as I started needing parts for my '76 Monte Carlo almost 10 years ago that finding certain parts was going to be hard, while others would be downright impossible. The situation has started to change for the better, but finding online vendors that carry more than just trunk weatherstrip and lock knobs is still sometimes a challenge. This page is intended to keep an up-to-date list of suppliers that I have found that claim to carry some of the less common parts for our cars. If I have actually dealt with this company and can speak of the quality of their parts as well, such will be included.
Ok, this is where you come in. If you've found a supplier that isn't already listed here that carries parts for GM's '73-'77 A-body cars, e-mail me and tell me about it. And if you've actually dealt with the company, please make sure you include details such as the quality and fit of the part(s), as well as what level of service you received from the vendor - did they treat you politely, ship your parts promptly, and assist you in choosing the right items as needed? Every little bit helps those who want to follow in your footsteps - or need to avoid dealing with a supplier that you wish you didn't!
